Kakopetria village lies on the northern flanks of the mountain and is full of old world charm and folklore – its name means ‘bad stone’ and this particular story is revealed as you enjoy lunch and explore the oldest part of the village. Nearby is the beautiful church of Ayios Nicolas tis Stegis (St. Nicolas on the Roof), one of the ten painted churches of the Troodos mountains which you will also visit.
